A highly efficient, space-conscious environment that supports elite athlete training.
Located within the Casanova Center at the University of Oregon in Eugene, the Mariota Sports Performance Center is an interior renovation that consolidates performance testing, movement monitoring, fitness, equipment and uniform storage, offices, and laundry into a compact, high-functioning facility. Designed to maximize usability within an existing structure, the project supports the University’s commitment to athlete health, performance, and innovation.
Close coordination across disciplines allowed the team to adapt existing systems and infrastructure while introducing new, high-performance solutions—ensuring the renovated space meets the demands of a modern sports performance program without compromising comfort or efficiency.
Special Features
Radiant ceiling heating and cooling paired with a dedicated outside air system to minimize ductwork in tight ceiling conditions
New mezzanine level inserted between existing floors, requiring precise spatial coordination
Reconfigured and reintegrated HVAC systems to support expanded program needs within the existing building
